4 Reasons Why You Have Lots O’ Lurkers👀 in Your Audience
*I first want to acknowledge that if you feel like a majority of your audience is ice cold to cool, you’re in the right place. And want to let you know they might be cold but they’re not dead.
It’s natural for our audience to have lurkers especially if you’ve been in business longer than 2+ years i.e. people who’ve come in at different points (old offers, old collabs, ads, organic, etc) and through one or more types of inconsistency:
- Inconsistent Copy Resonance (Broken Record Syndrome): meaning your posts and the way you pitch your offer they’ve heard it said the same way over and over they scroll past.
- Inconsistent Interest Touchpoints: this swings to side of no consistent touchpoint to consistent but intentional touchpoint.
- Inconsistent Offer Topic Evolution: your people either have already solved part of the problem you mentioned in the first pitch you did through another person’s offer now having a new problem to solve. Or their past clients who you helped solve their problem with same issue or new problems to solve meaning they evolved outside of your offer’s topic. Or you evolved offers/business that they didn’t sign up for but were already here.
- Last one which those going through life transitions who might have had to take a step back from solving their problem due to life things like loss in the family, job change, move etc.
All of these can feel turn them from what once was warm into another drop in the cold sea of silence that you know as your list inbox or comment section.
